Fond Farewell.
Gone but not forgotten. Two stalwarts of Edinburgh's jazz scene
who died within weeks of each other in the autumn, saxophonist
Jimmy Wood and vocalist Jimmy Gilmour, will have their lives in
music commemorated on Thursday in the Thistle Hotel, Manor Place,
9pm till midnight.
Pianist Jack Finlay and drummer Kevin Dorrian
have organised the event.
Says Kevin: "They had the respect of the jazz fraternity for a
long time and we'll recreate some of their legendary West End
resident gigs at Ryan's and Harry's bars.
We're calling it 'Jazz
Remembers the Two Jimmies". |
