The Bupa Great Edinburgh
Run starts and finishes in the beautiful surroundings of Holyrood Park,
Edinburgh. This running event is suitable for people of all running abilities
aged 15 years plus.
The route will cross the Forecourt of the historic Holyrood Palace by kind
permission of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run boasts a world-class 10km run course, which
includes landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle, the Scott Monument, the Royal Mile
and Holyrood Palace. |

Starting at Holyrood Park
and with a grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse, around 30,000 runners
are expected to enter the Edinburgh Marathon, Scottish Half Marathon and Hairy
Haggis Team Relay. It is now one of the biggest running festivals in the UK.
With an elevation drop of over 40 meters the route is a must for anyone seeking
a PB.
It is rated the fastest marathon in the UK by Runner's World Magazine, and
enjoys stunning views as it heads east along the coast. The Scottish Half
Marathon will start at 8.00am and the Edinburgh Marathon starts later at
10.00am. |
